The True Cause Of High Cholesterol And What You Can Do.
Most people are told and believe that high cholesterol levels are simply due to genetics. This is simply not true.
The truth is (and research is confirming this), that unhealthy cholesterol levels are caused by stress.
Let’s look at the research…
“One study found that stress is positively linked to having less healthy dietary habits, and a higher body weight which are known risk factors for high cholesterol.”
But that is more of an indirect cause. How about direct causes?
Another study focused on over 90,000 people and found that “those who self-reported being more stressed at work had a greater chance of being diagnosed with high cholesterol.”
And in another study of over 200 college students getting ready to take their final exams, the simple stress of exams produced an increase in cortisol and adrenaline (both stress hormones) that resulted in an increase in cholesterol levels as well.
Why should you care?
More people are experiencing low level chronic stress overload today than any time in our history, increasing the risk for chronic disease including cholesterolemia.
This then also increases your risk of heart disease and stroke.
So, what’s the solution?
Helping your brain and nervous system learn to better adapt to stress so it does not cause overload.
How do you do this?
With a chiropractic adjustment!
Chiropractic adjustments have been shown in research to positively affect the prefrontal cortex of the brain allowing it to better recover from stress.
This helps to reduce cortisol being released by the brain, leading to normalized blood pressure, reduced arterial wall plaque build up, reduced stroke risk and so much more.
There are additional ways to supplement the chiropractic adjustment but always start by getting adjusted.
