Endometriosis is a painful disorder in which tissue (similar to the tissue that lines the uterus) grows outside of the uterus. It affects 1 in 10 women during their reproductive years.
According to studies in the New England Journal of Medicine, endometriosis is one of the top three causes of female infertility. While it is one of the most treatable conditions, it remains the least treated.
Up to 30% – 50% of women with endometriosis may experience infertility (source: American Society for Reproductive Medicine)
The cause however has, for the most part, eluded most. Research however going back to 2005, appearing in Human Reproduction testing 84 women stated the following: “stress might play a role in the development and progression of endometriosis”. Additional studies have since backed up that stress does indeed play a role in the development of endometriosis.
The reason we share this with you is because additional research regarding the chiropractic adjustment has demonstrated that the chiropractic adjustment has a positive effect on the brain therefore helping you to be better able to adapt to stress thus decreasing your risk of stress related disorders such as endometriosis.
