With the hybrid learning model happening in most schools, kids are sitting for longer periods of time on their computers. 💻 Not only is this causing social and emotional consequences, it is also extremely hard physically on their bodies. Online learning places excess physical strain on kids’ backs, shoulders and necks which can lead to poor posture. Left untreated, this can lead to numerous health issues as poor posture can “affect the position and function of vital organs”. Children should get up and move around or stretch every 30-45 minutes and not sit on their computers for hours on end. In addition they should aim for 30 minutes of some kind of physical activity/exercise each day. ⛹️‍♂️🚶‍♀️
Excessive screen time is also leading to eye strain which can cause vision issues. Blue light glasses can reduce your child’s exposure to blue-violet rays by 80% or more. And lastly, too much time on screens is affecting children’s sleep. “The brain creates a hormone called melatonin that regulates a person’s sleep and awake cycles. Too much light, as emitted from video screens, at night can affect melatonin production and fool the brain into thinking the body isn’t ready for sleep.”
……………………………
Research using brain scans has shown that too much screen time can negatively impact brain development. Alternatively, chiropractic adjustments can actually improve brain development and function! 🧠
In addition, research shows that chiropractic can help with sleep issues. 😴
As children adapt to this hybrid learning style , it’s important to ensure you are doing all that you can to help keep them healthy. One of the best things you can do for them is get them adjusted regularly. 💯💪
